I recently discovered Twitter badge service SayTweet from a post on the Download Squad blog. SayTweet allows its users to upload an image to its site and tag an area of the image with any Twitter profile. The end result is an embeddable badge that will refresh with tweets from the tagged person in near real time.
A service like this may not provide any immediate value, however it is a great way to share your tweet updates with those who are not Twitter users. If you are trying to develop awareness for your brand, this could help build a strong visual with dynamic content.
If all else fails this could be a great source for some tomfoolery.
While creating and playing with my own badge, I discovered a few additional features that provided added value, such as allowing its users to track how many times the badge has been served and what sites the badge has been embedded on.
In the last 24 hours, up to this very post, 101 images have been uploaded to SayTweet. On their site you can search through these uploads and discover who and what has been tagged.
So take a break from your other serious Twitter work and take some time to browse through SayTweet and create your own unique Twitter badge.
UPDATE: You can now see the SayTweet canvas we created for Microblink here.

Thanks for the great review of SayTweet. I’m really glad you find it useful. There are a few new features planned so check back often.
Thanks again!
David
Rob, great review … I’ve seen David’s project online, but didn’t “really” understand it till now.
Thanks for the clarity.
@david chan - neat service.
@David What kind of features are on the list?
Some things I would like to see are clickable @usernames, clickable timestamps (which would go to tweet permalink) and the ability to tag a photo with a name and include any source to pull from (like an RSS feed). That would allow SayTweet to be used by any microblogging platform where a user had access to an RSS feed of their content.
@Mike - thanks for the great suggestions. As for the RSS feed content, I am focusing on Twitter solely at this point, and may include Pownce and Plurk in the future.
@David It’s good to hear you are ultimately thinking about other platforms as well. Broadening the scope outside of Twitter alone brings a great opportunity for eventual expansion and continued success.
