Twitter power users will likely find some monitoring services too primitive for their needs. Twitter Search offers some powerful capability in terms of using modifiers to zoom in on what you’re really trying to find. Twilert incorporates that advanced searching to allow you to drill down to exactly what you want.
Twilert delivers your alerts in digest form at a specified time either daily, weekly, or monthly. If selecting weekly or monthly, you can also choose a delivery day of the week or month, respectively. When you’re selecting criteria, you have two options: simple and advanced. The simple option allows you to enter some text and create your alert quickly and easily. The advanced option leverages many Search tricks, but presents them in a simple to understand manner. You don’t need to be a Search ninja to effectively use the powerful Search functions.
Twilert went live on November 26, 2008, and has had 1,000 users sign up in just over a week. One of those users is Jeff Turner (@respres) who has put together a short video intro to Twilert. At just over a minute long, it’s worth checking out if you’re not currently using Twilert.
