Dell Takes News Conference Questions via Twitter

Dell is hosting an event on Tuesday, August 12 titled, “Freedom from Business as Usual“, to unveil their newest crop of mobility products. The event itself is nothing out of the ordinary (aside from the focus being on mobile computing and electronics), but the way Dell will be soliciting feedback and answering questions is what caught my attention.

Dell will be using Twitter, and more specifically the Twitter account Digital_Nomads, to chat with attendees in real-time while the event is going on. Reporters and customers can direct any questions by sending an @Digital_Nomads reply and Dell will tweet back the response.

You can register for the event and listen in via Dell’s website, but to follow the Twitter stream around the event you’ll need to use Twitter Search (formerly known as Summize).

Use this link to track all tweets to and from Digital_Nomads.

Lionel Menchaca, Chief Blogger at Dell, will be part of the Twitter team answering tweets, as announced on the Direct2Dell blog today.
