I have been a long time fan of Summizer. This little application has become part of my daily online routine and is the easiest way to follow multiple topics on Twitter.
Summizer is a powerful Twitter search application for the iPhone and iPod touch. It provides quick access to Twitter Search queries through a clean and simple interface. What sets it apart from its competition, and most Twitter clients with built-in search, is that it allows users to save their searches so they can later read the latest mentions with a single touch.
If you haven’t tried Summizer yet you are in luck because last night Mustache Inc., the company behind Summizer, announced they have launched a free version of the app. Summizer Free is now available on the iTunes App Store (link). The free version limits users to only two saved queries however all of the other features from the normal, paid for version are available.
Trying out the free version is a great way to test out the application before making having to purchase the full application. As I said earlier Summizer continues to be my go to Twitter application as it allows me to stay up to date on the latest trends and at a glance find out who is talking about topics I follow.
Give Summizer Free a try and let us know know what you think. You can find it on the iTunes App Store here for $2.99.

It’s strange that two separate platforms would publicize new iPhone apps in the same week, but both Jaiku and Plurk are coming up on the app radar this week. mJaiku was actually released on November 3rd of last year, while iPlurk was released on January 4th of this year. It’s always refreshing to see new stuff come out for platforms that aren’t Twitter.
mJaiku seems to be a replacement of iJaiku which I mysteriously can no longer find in the App Store. iPlurk is also out there where Plurk on the iPhone has failed to gain App Store approval, despite being submitted in September (seriously Apple, wth!). mJaiku and iPlurk will set you back $0.99 and $1.99, respectively.

Microblogging platforms Twitter, Pownce, Rejaw and Plurk all have iPhone applications. Jaiku can now be added to that list. The recently Google-acquired platform is getting a third-party hand for the iPhone. Jaiku’s app looks to be created by a non-official developer, just as Plurk’s application was.
Mobile access is very important to the success of a microblogging platform. For a long time, Twitter was the king of mobility. Since the iPhone’s widespread success appeals to developers looking to be the first to market with microblogging applications, I’d expect to see more of these in the coming months.
Below are screenshots of the Jaiku iPhone app.
