Microblink detects AI-generated and AI-manipulated identity documents designed to bypass traditional verification systems. Generative models can now produce highly realistic passports, IDs, and licenses with synthetic security features, altered portraits, and structurally convincing layouts that evade rule-based checks.

Microblink analyzes the full document image against digital manipulations, synthetic artifacts, layout inconsistencies, and rendering patterns that signal use of AI tools.

Document Liveness Detection

Every document is checked for physical presence at the point of capture. The system analyzes micro-texture, surface depth, and lighting interactions to distinguish genuine documents from reproductions. Screen detection flags IDs displayed on phones, tablets, or monitors. Photocopy detection catches color and black-and-white reproductions, including cut-to-size paper counterfeits. 

The result is a configurable liveness score with thresholds set by customers per workflow.
