Q&A with Gunjan Doshi, Founder & Executive Chairman of InRhythm

Empowering Enterprise Innovation Through High-Velocity Teams and AI-Driven Product Strategy

Businesses across industries are racing to harness the power of artificial intelligence to reduce fraud, personalize digital experiences, and streamline operations. Microblink, for example, builds proprietary AI solutions for identity verification and payment fraud, empowering businesses worldwide to improve customers’ digital experiences. With more than 12 billion documents processed from over 180 countries, the flagship Microblink Platform is used across industries to onboard more real customers, optimize KYC/AML workflows, and minimize fraud, enabling organizations to make online interactions safer and easier.

As the original computer vision experts for identity verification, we know that cutting through the buzz of AI to deliver scalable and safe systems is one of the most essential challenges that businesses must conquer today.

In this Q&A, Gunjan Doshi, Founder & Executive Chairman of InRhythm, a leading digital consulting firm that helps enterprise clients modernize their platforms and accelerate AI adoption, shares how high-velocity teams and product-first thinking can turn AI ambition into enterprise advantage.

Q: What do organizations need to know about the state of AI today? Should companies be cautiously dipping their toes with small experiments, or investing in large-scale process overhauls?

Gunjan:

The real question isn’t whether to explore AI, but how to do it in a way that drives fast, scalable impact.

Small pilots are useful — but only if they’re designed to move into production. Too many companies run isolated experiments without a clear strategy for scale or governance. The smartest enterprises are already embedding AI into product roadmaps, customer experiences, and platform architectures — not just testing it on the side.

Start with one high-impact use case, prove it out, and scale fast — with clear value, trusted data, and a strong foundation for responsible AI.

Q: InRhythm specializes in AI-driven product innovation and platform modernization. How are your clients thinking about AI today — and how are you helping them make it real?

Gunjan:
Most enterprise leaders we speak with understand that AI isn’t just a trend — it’s a strategic inflection point. But they’re also wary of the hype. What they need is a trusted partner who can help them define what “AI-powered” really looks like in their context. For example, for a global asset manager, that might mean AI-driven personalization across investor portals. For an ecommerce platform, it might mean rethinking how search and recommendations operate. We help teams go from strategy to implementation — embedding AI into the core of their product experience while ensuring safety, performance, and governance.

Q: You’ve often spoken about building “bar-raiser” cultures. What does that look like in practice — especially in a consulting firm?

Gunjan:
A bar-raiser isn’t just a high performer — it’s someone who raises the standard for everyone around them. At InRhythm, we’ve built hiring practices, learning programs, and mentorship systems around this idea. Every consultant we bring in is expected to contribute to our culture of continuous learning. That’s how we maintain quality across dozens of high-velocity teams embedded in client environments. It’s also why we’re able to deliver complex platform transformations without compromising agility or innovation.

Q: What are some of the biggest mistakes you see enterprise firms making when trying to modernize their platforms or launch new digital initiatives?

Gunjan:
Two come to mind. First, many organizations still treat modernization as a technology project — when really, it’s a product transformation. You can’t just move to the cloud or adopt microservices without rethinking how your teams build, ship, and learn. Second, some firms try to go it alone. But speed and talent are everything. You need partners who bring the patterns, playbooks, and practitioners to compress learning cycles. That’s the role we play — accelerating time-to-value while enabling sustainable change.

Q: You’ve been involved with both Fortune 500s and fast-scaling startups. What can enterprises learn from the startup mindset — and what can startups learn from enterprise discipline?

Gunjan:
Startups are fearless about iteration. Enterprises have the resources and the reach. The magic happens when you blend both. We coach our enterprise partners to think more like product-led startups — to test faster, to decentralize decision-making, to prioritize customer feedback. At the same time, startups can learn from the enterprise rigor around scale, security, and governance. When you integrate those two mindsets, that’s when tnsformation sticks.

Q: How are regulated industries like banks and fintechs treating AI, compared to non-regulated sectors?

Gunjan:

Regulated industries are advancing with AI — but with a very different playbook. The stakes are higher: compliance, explainability, and auditability aren important considerations. That means these companies are more deliberate, but they’re not standing still.

The best banks and fintechs aren’t waiting for perfect clarity — they’re building AI with guardrails:

  • Transparent models,
  • Auditable workflows, and
  • Governance baked in from day one.

At InRhythm, we help clients balance speed with safety. We work with engineering teams and product leaders to embed AI where it drives clear business value along the software and product development life cycles, while meeting regulatory standards.

In contrast, non-regulated sectors tend to move faster and experiment more broadly. But they can also learn from the discipline and rigor financial institutions bring to AI implementation.

Q: You’ve built InRhythm into one of NYC’s fastest-growing digital consulting firms. What’s been your core philosophy for driving growth and innovation?

Gunjan Doshi:
At the heart of it, our growth has been fueled by a commitment to craftsmanship and velocity. We’ve always believed that elite teams — small, empowered, and deeply skilled — can move faster and build better. That belief drives everything we do at InRhythm, especially when working with enterprise clients navigating modernization and AI adoption. Our edge lies in pairing that engineering rigor with product thinking — not just delivering code, but delivering impact.

Q: Lastly, what excites you most about the future of enterprise technology?

Gunjan:
We’re at the dawn of a new era where AI will redefine how we build, how we work, and how we serve customers. But it’s not about AI replacing humans — it’s about augmenting creativity, accelerating delivery, and personalizing at scale. The firms that will win are the ones that modernize not just their platforms, but their thinking. That’s what keeps me excited every day — helping them get there.
