BlinkReceipt, LLC (d/b/a Microblink) (10 Grand St, Suite 2400, Brooklyn, NY 11249, United States of America) (hereinafter: “Microblink”), acts in the capacity of data controller when processing your personal data as described in this Privacy Notice.
This site is a demo of Microblink’s solution BlinkReceipt. Please make sure that you carefully read this Privacy Notice to understand how Microblink processes personal data before uploading any images that may contain personal data.
Use of BlinkReceipt through this site is meant to showcase Microblink’s technology, and receipts you share will be processed only to demonstrate the functionalities of this solution. Therefore, personal data that can be present on e-receipts will not be used for any other purpose. Microblink processes personal data for the mentioned purpose based on our legitimate interest in demonstrating Microblink technology, and without processing personal data, this would not be entirely possible.
If you share e-receipts that contain personal data of third parties to Microblink, you are responsible for ensuring an appropriate lawful basis for any such sharing of third parties (data subjects). Microblink may ask you to provide evidence that such data is shared on an appropriate lawful basis. Microblink shall use its best efforts to ensure that third parties’ personal data is processed, handled, and collected in the same manner as your own personal data. However, you are solely responsible for using a lawful basis to share personal data from third parties with Microblink.
Some personal data can be present on e-receipts and, in this case, Microblink may process the following categories of personal data: first and last name, home or business address, or e-mail.
After you scan the e-receipt, this scan is sent out to Microblink’s infrastructure located on Amazon Web Services. To ensure the highest level of availability for App users around the world, Microblink API is distributed globally using Amazon Load Balancing. This means that, for example, personal data scanned in the European Union could be exported to Microblink’s cloud servers in the United States or Asia for processing.
Besides ensuring the highest levels of availability, using Amazon Load Balancing also means that the same level of security will be maintained by using best practices and configuration that Amazon Web Services has to offer, including but not limited to encryption of data in transit and at rest, AWS Best Practices for DDoS Resiliency for protection from DDoS attacks and Web Application Firewall.
We do not extract personal data from the e-receipt, only data connected to the purchases, and return parsed data back to you. Microblink will keep the receipts that may contain personal data until necessary to achieve the purpose of the processing, but no longer than two years from the date when the receipt was received by Microblink.
